Xiaohong Wang was born in Shaanxi, China. She studied at Tsinghua University in China and Purdue University in the United States, where she received her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics in 2005 under the supervision of Prof. Zhilan Feng. Her research interests are mathematical modelling (both deterministic and stochastic) of the dynamical systems of infectious diseases, social behaviours, and networks.
