David Tello is a Ph.D. student in Mathematics working under the supervision of Prof. Castillo-Chavez and Prof. Greenwood. David's research interest lies on the areas of probability, stochastic processes, mathematical biology and mathematics education. David currently holds a M.S. in applied mathematics from the University of Michigan and a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Illinois of Chicago (UIC). During his undergraduate studies, David was a participant in the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Program, Louis Stroke Illinois Alliance for Minority Participation, CIC-Summer Research Opportunity Program at UIC, and the University of Iowa, a recipient of the Who's Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges, and was a student worker at the Rafael Cintron-Ortiz Latino Cultural Center for five years. David career goal is to become a full professor at a major urban university in the Midwest.
