Antonio Rubio is a native of Tempe, Arizona and is currently working towards his PhD. in applied mathematics with a certificate in environmental fluid dynamics. His current research is focuses on the application of geometric bifurcation theory on rotating Rayleigh-B\'enard convection, where he is working to further develop the understanding of the onset of K\"uppers-Lortz spatio-temporal chaos and the effects of harmonic perturbations on RRBC flows. Future plans include developing the numerical tools to explore the onset of turbulence in RRBC using dynamical systems theory.
