My name is Griselle Torres-Garcia and I am from Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. I got interested in mathematics while I was in elementary, intermediate, and high school where I participated from many math competitions. Then, I got my bachelor's degree in mathematics with a minor in math education from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez with high scores. I always had the desire of pursuing graduate education, but was during my last years of undergraduate studies that I participated in the program Mathematical and Theoretical Biology Institute (MTBI) where I discovered my passion for math. This passion is what has guided me through graduate school so far and it is my motivation to keep working hard to do what I love most, Math. Actually, I am a doctoral student in the Mathematics and Statistics Department at Arizona State University. I am interested in mathematical biology, specifically in modeling diseases, brain menstrual cycle and fertility.
