I was born in Pueblo, CO where I attended school as an undergraduate at Colorado State University-Pueblo.  At CSU-P I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics.  As an undergraduate, I was initially more interested in chemistry and for this reason I participated in several chemistry research programs including one at Stanford University and one at IBM Almaden Research center.  However, my interest began to lean more towards mathematics. This lead me to participate in the Mathematical and Theoretical Biology SummerProgram. It was an incredible experience and I became very interested in mathematical biology.  I am now currently pursuing a PhD in mathematics at Arizona State University, after which I would like to become a faculty member at a University.
