I am a third year graduate student in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Arizona State University working toward my PhD degree. My research interests are mathematical epidemiology, adaptive grid generation, Functional Analysis and Numerical analysis.  I was born and brought up in India. My early education is from the Department of Mathematics, Indian  Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IITK), one of the leading institutions in India. I worked jointly for the Department of Aerospace Engineering, IITK, and Hindustan Aeronautical Limited, Bangalore for a year before departing for USA for further studies.  I spent two years at University of Texas at Arlington, finally moving to Arizona State University in 2003. Since then, I have been working with Dr. Carlos Castillo-Chavez as my advisor. Some of the research problems I have worked on are modeling fuel cells, deformation method for adaptive grid generation, modeling PCR devices, modeling ET-DSP for ground contamination, modeling alcohol drinking environments, role of contact tracing on the spread of new emerging disease, etc.  As far as my extracurricular activities are concerned, I like listening Hindi and English classical music, playing field hockey, trekking, flying and snowboarding.
